In order for Africa to fulfil the needs and yearnings of its people while attaining its growth ambitions, the role of knowledgeable leadership, committed to good governance remains critical.

Vice President Osinbajo said likewise, the International Monetary Fund World Economic Outlook for October 2022, projected that the sub Saharan Africa would be the second fastest growing region in the world at 3.7 %, despite the challenges of COVID-19 and other global social economic upheavals within the same period.

Closely related to the continent’s growth ambitions, Vice President Osinbajo noted, are the external environment driven by the global economic order, peace and stability.

As projected that Africa’s population is set to double by 2050, reaching nearly 2.5 million, the conference looked into how Africa’s governments and institutions can pursue the right policies and develop infrastructure that will generate economic opportunities for their growing populations, and better prepare for the challenges that will accompany the population boom.
