Purdue QB Aidan O'Connell mocked to Raiders in Round 4

The Raiders are going to draft a quarterback at some point next week. That much we know for sure. But how high could the Raiders select a quarterback?

It appears the Raiders are still interested in the top quarterbacks in this class, but with Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud both likely to be picked in the top three, it seems unlikely that they will take one in Round 1. But is there someone later on that they might have their eye on?

In a recent mock draft done by Dane Brugler of The Athletic, he had the Raiders selecting Purdue QB Aidan O’Connell in Round 4. Here is what he had to say about the possible fit for Las Vegas:

Arguably the most popular non-first-round quarterback among teams this year, O’Connell is far above average in three key areas that NFL coaches covet: accuracy, intelligence and intangibles.

If the Raiders decide not to take a quarterback in Round 1, they are better off waiting until Day 3 to select someone like O’Connell or Clayton Tune (Houston). O’Connell does feel like a great fit in Las Vegas because of his incredible accuracy and anticipation.

Don’t be surprised if O’Connell goes even higher than Round 4 because he does have a lot of traits that will remind teams of Jared Goff.
