Pop show registration starts Apr 13

April 6, 2023

Cantopop music and movie fans are invited to a free outdoor marathon show to be held at the Cultural Centre Piazza on April 23, with the online registration for admission starting at 10am on April 13.

One of the highlights of this year’s Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the Outdoor Music x Film Marathon features two parts aiming to demonstrate the passing down of the city’s Cantopop culture.

In the first part, a pop concert, experienced and emerging singers, together with local bands, will collaborate and perform a series of pop classics.

This will be followed by Film Songs Singing Along, where local talented young singers will lead the audience to sing along to selected footage of movie songs to be projected onto a large screen at the venue.

These songs are edited from films or songs performed by late superstars Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui.

Before the programme starts, a breakdance parade and pop legends exhibition, The Avenue of Pop Dreams, organised by the Avenue of Stars Management, will be staged on the Avenue of Stars to commemorate the four legends of Bruce Lee, Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung and Danny Chan.

The pop legends exhibition will last for two weeks until May 7.

Admission to the Outdoor Music x Film Marathon is free with a limited quota. Interested parties can register for entry, with free seating, at the programme's webpage starting 10am, April 13 on a first-come, first-served basis.

The LCSD will arrange a broadcast of the programme’s recorded highlights on RTHK TV later.
