Opposition unity talk may dominate Pawar meeting on EVMs today
NEW DELHI: NCP chief Sharad Pawar has called a meeting of opposition parties to discuss the doubts about the efficacy of voting machine.
The meeting has been convened on Thursday evening at Pawar’s residence, and will involve briefing by IT experts and cryptographers on the possibility of EVM hacking.
In his letter, Pawar said that during the all-party meeting called by the EC on the issue of remote voting for migrant workers, some parties had raised doubts about the very use of EVMs.

He said while the poll watchdog had promised to clarify the doubts of civil society activists and political parties, it refused to even acknowledge the letters sent by them in mid-2022.
The invite also contains a report of “Citizens’ Commission on Elections, which has interviewed IT professionals, and other offcials on the inviolability of EVMs.
