Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding
performers in high school basketball. America's source for high school
sports continues the tradition to close out the 2022-23 season by naming
the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and
individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.
Each
state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in
the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released March 30. Read on for a look at the postseason honors schedule and the POYs in all 50 states.

5-9 | Guard | Class of 2023A 2,000-point career scorer for the Bucs, the North Carolina commit ended her Hoover career with the school's third straight 7A title. She averaged 14.6 points and 5.0 assists as Hoover went 35-1.

Led the Lions to a 25-2 record and their sixth straight state title. For the season, Sellers averaged more than 26
points,
nine rebounds and six assists per game. She poured in a game-high 32
points in a 57-38 win over Wasilla in the Class 4A state championship

STORY Arizona — Jerzy Robinson, Desert Vista (Phoenix)
5-11 | Guard | Class of 2026She burst on to the Grand Canyon State scene in a big way, averaging 22.0 points and 8.2 rebounds while leading the Thunder to a 28-3 record with an Open Division title. She holds at least 10 Division I offers.
STORYArkansas — Chloe Clardy, Conway
5-9 | Guard | Class of 2023Repeats as MaxPreps Arkansas Player of the Year. The Stanford commit averaged more than 24 points, six boards and four assists for the 17th-ranked Wampus Cats. In the 62-53 6A title victory, Clardy scored 20 and finished her career with more than 2,500 points.

6-0 | Guard | Class of 2023Last season's MaxPreps National Player of the Year followed with a sensational campaign, leading the Trailblazers to the No. 1 ranking for most of the season. The USC commit averaged 28 points, 14 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game for 31-1 Sierra Canyon.
STORYColorado — Sienna Betts, Grandview (Aurora)
6-4 | Post | Class of 2025She averaged a team-high 21.4 points and 16.5 rebounds while leading the Wolves to a 19-9 mark and the Class 6A state championship. In the title game, she scored 22 and grabbed 22 boards. Her older sister, Lauren, now at Stanford, was last year's Colorado Player of the Year.

Led the Green Dragons to a 27-0 record and the school's first Class LL state championship. Philpotts averaged 23 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals
per game en route to Southern Connecticut Conference Player of the Year

5-10 | Guard | Class of 2023The UMass commit led the Warriors to a 20-3 record and the state championship. She averaged 16.4 points per game and scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds in the 58-46 state title victory.

District of Columbia — Jadyn Donovan, Sidwell Friends
6-0 | Guard | Class of 2023A Duke commit, Donovan has the Quakers at 28-3 and in the top 10 of the MaxPreps Top 25 as they prepare for the State Champions Invitational. In her senior season, Donovan has averaged 14.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
STORYFlorida — Trinity Turner, Dr. Phillips (Orlando)5-8 | Guard | Class of 2024The Panthers went 30-1 and won their second straight 7A title behind Turner. She averaged 19.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and 7.1 assists on the year. In the title game, she scored 19 of her game-high 22 in the second half of Dr. Phillips' 47-43 victory.

Georgia — Courtney Ogden, Westminster (Atlanta)
6-0 | Wing | Class of 2023Headed to Stanford next season, she ended her prep career with 1,666 points. She averaged 22.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists this season.

6-1 | Center | Class of 2024Named state tournament MVP after averaging 12.3 points and 12.7
rebounds over three games, including 23 points and 13 rebounds in a
semifinal win over Campbell.

5-7 | Guard | Class of 2024Averaged 18.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 4.0 assists per game.
She tallied 20 points, four rebounds and two assists in the title game,
a 65-27 win over Rocky Mountain (Meridian) to bring CDA its 10th state
crown. She holds more than 20 Division I offers.
STORYIllinois — Lenee Beaumont, Benet Academy (Lisle)
6-0 | Guard | Class of 2023Helped the Redwings go 25-8 and reach the Class 4A state championship game. The Indiana commit averaged 19.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. She dropped
a game-high 27 points in the title game before her team fell in double
overtime to O'Fallon.
STORYIndiana — Chloe Spreen, Bedford North Lawrence (Bedford)
5-9 | Guard | Class of 2024A 4A champion with the Stars this season, Spreen averaged 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. She shined in the
postseason, scoring 123 points over seven games including 20 in the
title game.

Iowa — Sahara Williams, Waterloo West (Waterloo)
5-10 | Wing | Class of 2023The Oklahoma commit piled up 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.0 steals per game for the 22-2 Warhawks, who reached the 5A quarterfinals. Williams is a McDonald's All American pick as well as being on the Nike Hoops Summit roster.

6-3 | Wing | Class of 2023Headed to Iowa State next season, she helped the Panthers to a 22-3 record and third-place finish in the 6A tournament. Brown averaged 20.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.6 steals per game and was a McDonald's All American pick.

Kentucky — ZaKiyah Johnson, Sacred Heart (Louisville)
6-1 | Guard | Class of 2025Last season's MaxPreps Freshman of the Year continued a stellar career leading the Valkyries to their second straight state title. Johnson averaged 22.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.0 steals
per game. She poured in 30 points in a 68-53 win over McCracken County
(Paducah) in the state championship game.

Louisiana — Mikaylah Williams, Parkway (Bossier City)
6-0 | Guard | Class of 2023A repeat Louisiana Player of the Year winner and MaxPreps National Player of the Year finalist, the LSU commit averaged 17.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game.
She poured in 34 points to lead Parkway to an 80-57 win over
Ponchatoula in the title game.

Maine — Sierra Carson, Oxford Hills (South Paris)
5-8 | Point guard | Class of 2023Averaged 17.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.9
assists and 3.3 steals per game for the 21-1 Vikings, who won their third Class AA title since 2019.

Maryland — Madisen McDaniel, Bishop McNamara (Forestville)
5-7 | Point guard | Class of 2023The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Player of the Year, she helped the Mustangs to a 21-6 record while also capturing the WCAC title. She averaged 18.6 points, 5.4 assists, 5.2 steals and 4.3 rebounds per game.

She led the Golden Warriors to a 27-0 record and the Division 1 state championship. Foley averaged 16.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.4
steals and 2.0 blocked shots per game. She scored a game-high 20 points
in a 55-51 title game victory over
Bishop Feehan.

She averaged 25.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game for the 15-9 Pioneers. She is the
school's all-time leading scorer with 1,537 points, passing her sister
Jillian – now a sophomore at Northwestern – earlier in the season.

The South Carolina commit led the Knights to the Class AAAA state championship, scoring 27 and grabbing 10 rebounds in a 71-70 win over Hopkins. St. Michael-Albertville became the first school in state history to win a championship in three classes. Johnson averaged more than 24 points, six assists and five rebounds per game.
STORY Mississippi — Madison Booker, Germantown (Madison)6-1 | Wing | Class of 2023Headed to Texas after leading the Mavericks to a 29-2 record and the 6A title, the school's first. The McDonald's All American selection averaged 19.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, scoring in double figures in every contest.

For the season, Potts averaged 18.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists
per game. Those numbers helped Incarnate World Academy extend the
nation's longest win streak to 100 games and bring home the program's
sixth straight state title.
STORY Montana — Breanna Williams, Skyview (Billings)6-2 | Forward | Class of 2024Helped the Falcons go 19-5 and take third place at the Class AA state tournament. For the season, Williams averaged 22.4 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2.8
assists per game.

5-11 | Point guard | Class of 2024 Led the Wolves to a 25-1 record and their third straight Class B state title. Prince averaged 24.2 points, 8.7
rebounds, 6.5 assists and 3.6 steals per game.

5-9 | Guard | Class of 2024The Bulldogs finished 30-1, winning their eighth straight state title as Boyd averaged 12.2 points, 4.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 steals per game from her point
guard position, helping Centennial close the season on a 30-game win
streak.

5-7 | Guard | Class of 2023Helped the Cardinals to a perfect record of 21-0 and the Division I state championship. Paquette averaged 12.8 points per game for the season and scored 14 points in the fourth quarter as part of a 24-point effort in the state title game.
STORYNew Jersey — Zoe Brooks, St. John-Vianney (Holmdel)
5-8 | Point guard | Class of 2023A North Carolina State commit, she averaged 23.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 5.8 steals per game for the No. 9 team in the MaxPreps Top 25. Brooks helped the Lancers to a 32-1 record and a berth in the Non-Public A championship game.

5-10 | Guard | Class of 2025The state's leading scorer, she averaged 30.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game. In two
seasons at Eldorado, she has piled up 1,432 points in addition to over
300 rebounds and 150 steals.

The floor general for a team that is ranked No. 2 nationally, Heckel averaged 16.2 points, 6.5 assists and 3.7 steals per game. LuHi is 22-22 and won the state's Federation Class AA title.

North Carolina — Sarah Strong, Grace Christian (Sanford)
6-2 | Forward | Class of 2024 Led the Crusaders to a 32-3 record and the NCISAA Class 2A state championship. She averaged 22.6 points, 13.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 3.4 steals and 2.2
blocked shots per game, piling up 22 points, 20 rebounds and
five assists in the state title game.
STORYNorth Dakota — Logan Nissley, Century (Bismarck)
6-0 | Guard | Class of 2023The two-time North Dakota Player of the Year, she also earned the same honor during the volleyball season. The Nebraska basketball commit averaged 20.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 2.5 assists per game. She finished her high school career with 1,664 points as the Patriots went 23-4 and won the Class A title.

6-1 | Forward | Class of 2025Averaged 25.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game, scoring a game-high 20 points in the title game. The Cavaliers went 27-2 and grabbed the Division II title.

5-11 | Forward | Class of 2023A North Carolina State commit, she averaged 21.3 points and nearly seven rebounds per game. She scored 19
points in the title game to help 28-0 Edmond North win its second consecutive
state crown and earn tournament MVP honors.

6-1 | Forward | Class of 2025The Cavaliers went 26-4 and won the state 6A title behind her 21.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Regarded by some as the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2025. Baylor,
California, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oregon,
Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC and Utah are among the college
programs that have extended early offers.

the season, Casey averaged 21.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.1 steals and
3.4 assists per game. In a 53-45 win over Blackhawk (Beaver Falls) in
the title game, she scored a game-high 28 points.

5-11 | Guard | Class of 2023Led the Cavaliers to a 21-4 record, Division I championship and a spot in the RIIL State Tournament Elite 8. She averaged 17.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 10.9 steals per
game. She tallied 12 points, 13 rebounds, seven steals and four blocked
shots in the 34-23 Division I championship win over La Salle Academy.

6-2 | Forward | Class of 2024She passed the 3,000-point mark as the Bulldogs went 29-2 and won their first state title in 41 years. She averaged 28.7 points, 13.7 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 2.9 assists per
game, including 33 points in the championship.

5-11 | Guard | Class of 2023A two-time state champion, she led the Warriors to a 21-3 mark and Class AA title this season. She averaged 18.0 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game while
picking up 15 double-doubles this season. In the title game, Harpe had
21 points to spur a 54-36 victory over Riggs.

5-6 | Guard | Class of 2024Last year's MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year, she's also a two-time state player of the year. She averaged 29.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 3.8 assists per game as the Tigers went 27-4 and reached the Division II-AA finals.

6-1 | Guard | Class of 2023An Indiana commit, she led the Cowboys on a historic run to the 6A final four. She averaged 17.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for the 38-4 Cowboys.

5-11 | Guard | Class of 2023Starred for nationally-ranked team, averaging 20.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. The Knights went 23-3 and won a second straight Class 6A state title behind the BYU commit.

She dropped a game-high 16 points in the title game, a comeback victory
over Spaulding as the Falcons went 24-0 and won the Division II title.

5-8 | Guard | Class of 2023Virginia pledge averaged 23.9 points, 8 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 4.4 steals per game and the Saints went 27-2. In the VISAA Division I title win, she dropped a game-high 32 points in the title game to go along with eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.

6-0 | Guard | Class of 2024The Bulldogs won their third straight Class 3A title behind Fiso, who averaged over 22 points, six rebounds and two assists per game. She put
up 26 points in a semifinal win over Mead and then tallied 13 points,
eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 48-39 win over Lake
Washington in the final.

5-8 | Guard | Class of 2025Helped the Patriots go 25-3 and reach the Class AAAA state championship game, averaging 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.9 steals per game. In two years at Wheeling Park, Bordas has helped the program go 44-8 and already surpassed the 1,000-point mark.

Wisconsin — Kamorea "K.K." Arnold, Germantown
5-10 | Guard | Class of 2023UConn commit averaged 23.3 points, 7.7 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game.
She finished her career with over 2,400 points, 700 rebounds, 600
assists and 400 steals as the Warhawks finished 23-6 and reached the Division I semifinals.

5-8 | Guard | Class of 2024Averaged 20.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 3.3 assists per game as the Broncos went 25-0 and won the 4A title. In a 65-53 win over Thunder Basin in the title game, she contributed 23 points, five rebounds, four steals
and two blocked shots.
