Before North Carolina, Chicago, and D.C., Michael Jordan called Wilmington’s Emsley A. Laney High School his basketball home. Over the years, Jordan Brand has acknowledged and honored MJ’s prep career with various Laney-inspired sneakers, beginning with the Air Jordan 14 Low in 1999. Since then, the colorway has garnered cult classic status and was re-released in 2015, but has never been produced in mid-cut form—until now.

One of the focal points of Jordan Brand’s Summer 2023 lineup, the “Laney” Air Jordan 14 is a near replication of the original low-top scaled into a mid. Taking on the school’s official palette, the shoe features a royal blue and black nubuck upper, white midsole, and yellow accent hits throughout. No official markings tie the shoe to the school.

Expect the “Laney” Air Jordan 14 to release on May 27 for $210.
