Death Investigation After Fall from Upper Floor at Dunton Tower, Arlington Heights

Police investigators at the front entrance at Dunton Tower Apartments, 55 South Vail Avenue on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 after a man was found dead on the roof of a lower structure of the high-rise apartment building.

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 11:32 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023 to a report of a fall victim on the roof of a lower structure at Dunton Tower Apartments, 55 South Vail Avenue in Arlington Heights. A staff member at Dunton Tower reported that a resident was lying on the roof, unresponsive and not breathing. A 60 year-old resident apparently fell from an upper floor window on the east side of the building.

Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics determined the man was dead at the scene, and the scene was turned over to police officers for investigation. The Cook County Medical Examiners Office confirmed that a 60 year-old man who lived at 55 South Vail Avenue, Dunton Tower Apartments on the 10th floor, was pronounced dead at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023

The Cook County Medical Examiners Office released the identity of the man as Ira S. Reisman, age 60, of the block of 0-100 South Vail Avenue in Arlington Heights.




Ira was a well-liked, popular, and friendly employee of a service business in downtown Arlington Heights. He attended many outdoor events in downtown Arlington Heights, and was remembered by friends as a great guy with a great sense of humor. Ira Reisman was a reader of CARDINAL NEWS with a moral sense, and was concerned about his community — always outgoing and sincere.
