Mount Prospect Police Investigating Shots Fired Call on Boxwood Drive Mount Prospect

Police officers from Mount Prospect responded Monday to a report of shots fired in the block of 1100 Boxwood Drive in Mount Prospect just east of Randhurst Village. The police department did not release what time the shots were fired.

According to the Mount Prospect Police Department, preliminary investigation indicates that an offender drove a white colored Toyota into the neighborhood and an offender or offenders fired a gun or guns out of the vehicle at an intended target. There are no reported injuries and the Toyota fled the area.

According to the Mount Prospect Police Department, the investigation is still in the beginning stages, and more information will be available at a later time.

The crime scene is located near Euclid Elementary School, Randhurst Village, and Rob Roy County Club Village. The neighborhood of the crime scene is about one-half mile from the Mount Prospect Police Department Headquarters. The nearest major intersection is Euclid Avenue and Elmhurst Road (Route 83).
