It is extremely important to save water, especially in the climate emergency that we are in. Climate change leads to extreme weather like droughts, floods, and fires. We must do everything that we can to save and conserve water. 

The single BEST thing you can do to save water is to stop eating meat and all animal products. Growing animals for livestock takes a massive amount of water. It takes nearly 660 gallons of water to make just one burger, which is equivalent to nearly two months of showering for the average person. On the other hand, it takes 1,000 gallons of water to make just one gallon of cow milk.

However, there are numerous other ways that you can make small changes to help save water. This couple for example developed a small DIY system where they can recycle their grey water to cut down on their use.

All of the water from their shower, kitchen, and taps go down into a reed bed system. The system starts with a worm farm before it goes into another chamber with different-sized rocks and different types of reeds, and natural plants. Finally, the water ends up in a little pond that they made that is home to frogs and tadpoles. They use this water to water their garden to make sure that the water is recycled.
