Excellent civil servants commended

December 12, 2022

Chief Executive John Lee today commended and congratulated winners of the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2022.

Prizes were presented in four categories for this year’s award scheme, including the Excellence in Partnership Awards, Excellence in Service Enhancement Awards, Excellence in Team Collaboration Awards and the newly introduced Innovation & Technology Awards in collaboration with the Innovation, Technology & Industry Bureau.

Fifty-five entries from 32 bureaus and departments were awarded under 11 categories.

Speaking at the prize presentation ceremony, Mr Lee lauded the achievements of every winning and participating project, which he described as good stories of the civil service and examples of outstanding achievements worthy of public recognition.

He noted that with the core value of heeding the people’s needs, the civil service team responds to people’s aspirations for a better life, and contributes to the integration into the country’s national development.

The Government will improve the civil service management system, motivate civil servants to scale higher and demonstrate the citizen-oriented service culture, he stressed.

He also encouraged various departments and their staff to complement each other while performing respective functions in order to achieve synergy and create the greatest value for society.

Also attending the ceremony, Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung expressed hope that the award scheme would give wider recognition to the efforts in the civil service.

Government staff can inspire and learn from each other to reinforce the citizen-oriented service ethos, with a view to enhancing the quality of public service for the benefit of the citizens and Hong Kong’s development, she said.

A dedicated television programme on the winning entries will be shown on RTHK TV 31. Click here for the details.
