Iftar dua for breaking the fast

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَ عَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ وَ عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ

Allaahumma Laka S'umtu Wa A'laa Rizqika Aft'artuwa A'layka Tawawkkaltu

O my Allah, for Thee, I fast, and with the food Thou gives me I break the fast, and I rely on Thee.

Bismillah Allaahumma Laka S'umnaa Wa A'laa Rizqika Aft'arnaa Fa—Taqabbal Minnaa Innaka Antas Samee—U'l'a'leem

In the name of Allah, O Allah, we fast, and with the food Thou gives us we break the fast, an obligation we fulfill, and Thou art Hearer, Knower

Say the following when the first morsel of food is taken

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَا وَاسِعَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ اغْفِرْ لِي

Bismillahir Rah'maanir Rah'eem Yaa Waasi—A'l Maghfirati Igfir Lee

In the name of Allah, the Beneficient, the Merciful, O He whose indulgence is boundless, forgive me

It is recommended to begin breaking the fast with legally gotten food (halal earnings), especially dates. This act doubles the reward of the prayer to four hundred folds.

It is also advisable to break the fast with dates, ripe dates, candy, sugar-candy, and cool water.

A hadith reads, “Almighty Allah releases from Hellfire one million persons at the last hour of every day in Ramadan; therefore, pray Almighty Allah to include you with these released ones.”

It is recommended to recite the Surah of al-Qadr at breaking the fast.

Amal At The Time Of Iftar To Connect With Imam Mahdi(as)- Ayatollah Karahi Suggests Recite Sura Fatiha for Lady Nargis Khatoon mother of Imam Zaman(ajtfs) , Say a Salam to Imam Mahdi ( ajtfs) "Assalmao Alayka Ya Sahib Asr wal zaman " & Say a salam to Imam Hussain ( as) Asalaamo alayka Ya Aba Abdillah"

It is recommended to give alms at the time of breaking the fast and to offer food to the other fasters even if with a single date and a drink of water. Concerning this, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said,

“Verily, any one who offers food for a fasting person in the month of Ramadan will have the same reward that is decided for the fasting person without having any amount of his reward reduced and will have the same reward of acting good deeds according to the power of that food.”
