Petition: Tell the EPA to Finally Ban the Dangerous Weed Killer, Paraquat, like the Rest of the World

More and more research is finding that paraquat, a dangerous weedkiller used in the United States, is linked to Parkinson’s disease. The toxic spray is banned in numerous places across the world because of growing concerns about its safety, but it is still allowed in the United States.

A coalition of farm workers, public health advocates, and environmental organizations is demanding that the United States immediately ban the use of this dangerous weed killer. Paraquat is banned in the entire European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and China. However, the EPA has been incredibly slow to listen to dozens of other countries about the public health risks of this dangerous chemical.

Parkinson’s is an awful disease, and millions of Americans endure it every year. There is no reason that our government should not be trying to protect us and the environment from this chemical.

Sign this petition to demand the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) join the rest of the world and ban paraquat from use in the United States!
