Draft Recruitment rules for Postmen & Mail Guard 2022 Postmen Qualifications & Conditions • Educational qualification 12th Standard pass • For GDS 10th Standard pass • Knowledge of working on computer • Should have two wheeler or light motor vehicle licence • Persons with benchmark disabilities exempted from licence. • Local language is compulsory. • A person not possessing local language selected should pass local language test after appointment and that is precondition for probation. • Persons passed local language as one of the subjects in 10th std is exempted for such test. • GDS are exempted local language test. • If not having valid driving licence may be appointed. He should have the licence within 5 years. The yearly increment will not be drawn till he posses the licence. • Increment will be restored but no arrears will be paid. • Upper age limit for the GDS shall be fifty years of age as on 1st January of the vacancy year. Method of recruitment • 25% MTS through seniority cum fitness divisional basis. • 25% MTS of the Postal circle on the basis of examination. • Remaining 50% on the basis of examination for GDS of the Postal Circle with five years service as on 1st January of the vacancy year. • Unfilled up vacancies earmarked for MTS will be added to the GDS for examination. • If not filled up the vacancies will be thrown open to outside recruitment. • For seniority quota for MTS 6 years regular service as on 1st January. • For examination, MTS with three years service is sufficient. • For 50% vacancies for GDS the MTS having total service of five years including GDS will be allowed.
