The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 7,212 additional locally acquired COVID-19 cases, of which 1,544 were identified through nucleic acid tests and 5,668 via rapid antigen tests.

Separately, 524 imported cases were detected.

Furthermore, eight residential care home for the elderly and nine for disabled people logged 27 cases involving their residents and staff.

In addition to reporting that 13 more patients passed away in public hospitals due to the coronavirus, the Hospital Authority registered five more critical patients, bringing the number of patients in critical condition to 42.

Due to a number of positive cases, 37 specified places are included in a compulsory testing notice. It also covers another two places in Tung Chung and Cheung Sha Wan where some sewage samples tested positive for the virus.

The Government will reopen the ad-hoc mobile specimen collection stations at Wah Kwai Estate in Pok Fu Lam, Shek Pai Wan Estate in Aberdeen and Chuk Yuen North Estate in Wong Tai Sin tomorrow, and the service period of the ad-hoc mobile specimen collection station at Wang Tau Hom Estate in Lok Fu will be extended to November 22.

As there were positive sewage test results with relatively high viral loads in several areas of Kwai Tsing, Islands and Wong Tai Sin districts, the respective district offices will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleaning workers and property management staff working there.
