Leslie Phillips, a well-known British actor who appeared in the “Harry Potter” series, has passed away.
According to the BBC, his staff has confirmed that he died quietly and in his sleep on Monday. Other information was withheld. Phillips appeared in three of the “Harry Potter” films, including “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” and the final film, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” and is probably best known to this generation as the voice of the Sorting Hat.

Prior to his job as a wizard, however, Phillips already had a successful career on his hands. He had starred in hundreds of projects for radio, film, and television. He boasts an astounding 174 acting credits, many of which are from the 1950s.
To begin with, Phillips made numerous appearances in the well-known “Carry On” slapstick comedies and TV series in Britain. In addition, he appeared in the films ‘Empire of the Sun’, ‘Is Anyone There?’, and ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’Â over the years.
He had been in a great deal of TV shows. “Casanova ’73” and “Chancer” spring to mind, along with other films like “Our Man at St. Marks” and “Honey for Tea.” He was well-known in British circles, especially among those who grew up watching media in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, for his comedic skills and well-chosen catchphrases.
Rest in peace Leslie. He was 98.
