Aaron Carter's family insist that the famous singer's death is not caused by suicide after he was found in the bathtub of his Los Angeles home on Saturday.
Police didn't find any suicide note, but they spotted cans of compressed air and prescription pills in both his bathroom and bedroom.
Sources told TMZ that Carter was looking forward to spending holidays with his family, as had managed to take some steps towards repairing his relationship with his ex-partner Melanie Martin and his family.
Suicide note?
"Love yall stay blessed stay safe," Carter recently posted on social media.
"Enjoy your holidays."
Some fans believe that this was some kind of a suicide note, as he appeared out of it on recent social media live streams. However, TMZ reports that Aaron was planning to meet both his former partner and their son Prince during holidays.
Aaron also planned appointments with a family counsellor in his bid to repair his relationship with Melanie.
Following Aaron's death, his brother Nick, who is member of the Backstreet Boys, released a statement to express his sorrow.
"My heart is broken," reads the statement.
"Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.
"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth. I love you baby brother."
