NEW DELHI: Congress’s Himachal Pradesh in-charge Rajeev Shukla said Tuesday that Youth Congress functionaries would be given important responsibilities in the government if the party wins the upcoming assembly elections in the hill state.
His comments are seen as an attempt to pacify disgruntled members, unhappy over the party leadership denying them tickets to contest the polls.
Shukla also dismissed reports that these members were staying away from the campaign.
“These misconceptions are being spread deliberately,” he said. He said: “Youth Congress is united and is standing in the field with full strength. There are many posts in the government, and youth leaders will be accommodated when Congress forms the government.”
