Blessing of the rain

The rain was a moment of joy, mercy and blessing from Allah Subhanahu Walala. Alhamdulillah. When it rains we should be happy and not upset. Some people are disturbed by the rain. In fact, we would be better off using our time to pray during the rainy season rather than worry. As it is mentioned in the hadiths,

In our efforts to pray to Almighty Allah to answer our prayers, use the best times that Allah has offered to grant their prayers. One of those moments is when it rains.

Allah SWT says,

"And it is He Who sends down the rain after they had despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy " (Surat ash-Shura: 28).

"call upon me; I will respond to you. "Those who despise my worship will enter the ignominious hell.. (Sahih International: Surah Ghafir: 60)

This verse also shows that Allah shows mercy to His servants as He orders them to pray directly to Allah without an intermediary and it is guaranteed to be granted. It is narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Once when rain fell from the sky, he told his servant to take out his bed and saddle.

Abu Jawzaa’ then asked Ibn Abbas: Why are you doing that, May Allah have mercy on you? Ibn Abbas then said: “Do you not read the book of Allah: “And we have sent down from the heavens water that is blessed” .Therefore I would like the blessing to fall (incur) on them.”

It is narrated by A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that, when it used to rain, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) used to pray for beneficial rain and say: “O Allah, bring beneficial rain clouds.” (Bukhari)

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) also used to say: “We are given rain by Allah’s mercy, Allah’s providence, and Allah’s grace.” (Bukhari)

The time of rain is the time of mercy from Allah; We should take advantage of this time when Allah shows mercy to His slaves and makes a lot of dua.

There are many times and many places where dua is answered and one of them is when rain falls, as the Prophet said: “Two will not be rejected, dua when the adhan is being called and at the time of the rain.” (Abu Dawood)

As believers, the closer and more intimate our relationship is with nature, the stronger and certainly heal the impact such an affiliation can have on our faith and our relationship with Allah.(SWT).

We are invited as those around us to look when He sends us to reflect and give thanks in the form of rain. So appreciate this great rain and turn to Him sincerely and be one of His loved ones.
