NFL Week 7 live score updates: Bears upset QB-confused Patriots; Chiefs take down 49ers

Quarterbacks headlined the early slate of Week 7 NFL action.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones accounted for 309 total yards in a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. And Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow threw for over 400 yards against a depleted Atlanta Falcons secondary.

The Giants improved to 6-1 overall, while the Bengals offense hit their stride with another scoring burst. Elsewhere, the Carolina Panthers upset the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Commanders stunned the Green Bay Packers.

Week 7 continues with an intriguing afternoon slate. Miami Dolphins star Tua Tagovailoa is back under center as the Miami Dolphins face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.

Here's a rundown of all the Week 7 action around the NFL.

Arizona Cardinals 42, New Orleans Saints 34

Briefly: Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins made his triumphant return in style. Hopkins, who was suspended six games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, hauled in 10 catches for 103 yards. The Cardinals defense also played well with three interceptions that proved to be the difference in the game.

One highlight to know: Cardinals linebacker Isaiah Simmons scored on a 56-yard interception return in the second quarter. It was the second pick-6 that the Cardinals had in the game.

Next up: The Cardinals will play the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. The Saints will host the Las Vegas Raiders.

Tennessee Titans 19, Indianapolis Colts 10

Briefly: The Titans seized control of the AFC South behind a stellar defense performance. Tennessee forced three turnovers and flustered Colts quarterback Matt Ryan all afternoon. Ryan threw for 243 yards but tossed two costly interceptions. The Titans took advantage and scored 10 points off the mistakes. It was enough to help the Titans win their fourth consecutive game.

One highlight to know: Titans safety Andrew Adams had a scored on a 76-yard interception return. It was his eighth career interception and first NFL touchdown.

Next up: The Titans face the Houston Texans in Week 8, and the Colts play the Washington Commanders.

Washington Commanders 23, Green Bay Packers 21

Briefly: Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke delivered in his first start of the season. He completed 20 of 33 passes for 201 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. In the third quarter, Heinicke found star receiver Terry McLaurin for a 37-yard touchdown to give Washington the lead. The defense held off a late Packers comeback to improve to 3-4 on the season. The Packers lost their third consecutive game as the offense accounted for just 232 yards of offense.

One highlight to know: Packers linebacker De'Vondre Campbell scored on a 63-yard interception return early in the second quarter.

Next up: The Packers face the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. The Commanders have a road matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

Cincinnati Bengals 35, Atlanta Falcons 17

Briefly: Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 481 yards and three touchdowns against a depleted Falcons secondary. The Bengals had four first-half scoring drives to seize control by halftime. Cincinnati receiving trio Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd combined for 21 catches, 223 yards and three scores. The Falcons were held to 214 yards in defeat.

One highlight to know: Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd hauled in a 60-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He averaged 19.4 yards per catch on nine targets.

Next Up: The Falcons host the Carolina Panthers in Week 8, while the Bengals face the Cleveland Browns in the Battle of Ohio next Monday.

Baltimore Ravens 23, Cleveland Browns 20

Briefly: The Ravens improved to 4-3 overall despite just 254 total yards. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson completed nine passes and struggled against Cleveland's defense. Ravens running back Gus Edwards carried the load with two touchdowns. The Browns attempted a late 60-yard field goal, but it was blocked as time expired.

One highlight to know: Ravens running back Gus Edwards scored a 7-yard touchdown in his first game back following a knee injury.

Next up: The Ravens play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. The Browns play AFC North rivals Cincinnati Bengals in the Battle of Ohio.

New York Giants 23, Jacksonville Jaguars 17

Briefly: Giants quarterback Daniel Jones turned in another impressive performance as the Giants improved to 6-1 overall. Jones had 309 total yards (107 rushing) and two touchdowns in the victory. He spearheaded a fourth-quarter comeback as his 1-yard score gave the Giants a late lead. Jaguars running back Travis Etienne had 114 rushing yards and a touchdown.

One highlight to know: Giants quarterback Daniel Jones rushes for a 24-yard run late in the fourth quarter.

Next up: The Giants will play the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8, and the Jaguars play the Denver Broncos.

Carolina Panthers 21, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3

Briefly: The Panthers turned in a strong defensive effort to shut down the Buccaneers offense. Carolina flustered Tom Brady as he competed 32 of 49 passes for just 290 yards. Panthers running backs D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard filled in well following Christian McCaffrey's departure earlier in the week. The backfield duo accounted for 181 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers stingy run defense.

One highlight to know: Panthers receiver DJ Moore hauled in a 20-yard touchdown just before halftime to give Carolina a 7-0 lead.

Next up: The Panthers face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8. The Buccaneers play the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.

Dallas Cowboys 24, Detroit Lions 6

Briefly: Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott returned from injury to help engineer an impressive Week 8 victory. Prescott was efficient as he completed 19 of 25 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. Ezekiel Elliott stepped up with two rushing touchdowns as well. The Lions offense sputtered and suffered another injury blow when receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was ruled out with a concussion early in the game.

One highlight to know: Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott extended a third-quarter lead with a short touchdown against the Lions. He finished with 57 rushing yards on the afternoon.

Next up: The Cowboys face the Chicago Bears in Week 8, while the Lions play the Miami Dolphins.

New York Jets 16, Denver Broncos 9

Briefly: Without veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, the Broncos struggled to mount much of anything on offense, while the Jets crawled along to a win. Jets rookie running back Breece Hall notched a 62-yard touchdown run but left the game early with a knee injury in the second quarter.

One highlight to know: Hall pulled off an impressive 62-yard run to find the end zone in the first quarter for the game's first score.

Up next: The Jets host the New England Patriots in Week 8, while the Broncos travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Las Vegas Raiders 38, Houston Texans 20

Briefly: Raiders running back Josh Jacobs broke out with three rushing touchdowns and nearly 150 yards on the ground to lead the Las Vegas attack. Quarterback Derek Carr was 21 for 27 passing for 241 yards and a touchdown.

One highlight to know: Duron Harmon notched a pick-six off Texans quarterback Davis Mills, returning the interception 73 yards for the score. It was Harmon's first career touchdown in 10 NFL seasons.

Next up: The Raiders travel to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 8, and the Texans host the Tennessee Titans.

Kansas City Chiefs 44, San Francisco 49ers 23

Briefly: Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman became the first wide receiver in the Super Bowl era with two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown in a single game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes accounted for three of Kansas City's scores in the decisive win.

One highlight to know: Hardman's 25-yard rushing touchdown with 7:09 left in the second quarter gave the Chiefs a lead it would not relinquish.

Next up: The Chiefs have a bye in Week 8, while the 49ers travel to face the Los Angeles Rams.

Seattle Seahawks 37, Los Angeles Chargers 23

Briefly: The Chargers' defense, which lost cornerback J.C. Jackson to injury in this game, had no answer for the Seahawks' attack of Geno Smith and Kenneth Walker III. Walker tallied 168 yards and two touchdowns, outpacing the offense of quarterback Justin Herbert and Los Angeles.

One highlight to know: With the Chargers attempting a fourth-quarter comeback, Walker broke off a 74-yard rushing touchdown to put the game out of reach.

Next up: The Seahawks host the New York Giants, while the Chargers have a bye week.

Miami Dolphins 16, Pittsburgh Steelers 10

Brief: Neither team scored in halftime, but quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins managed to outlast the Steelers in this "Sunday Night Football" matchup. Tagovailoa completed 21 of 35 passes and a touchdown while Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett threw three interceptions despite completing 32 throws in a losing effort.

One highlight to know: Raheem Mostert caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Tagovailoa in the first possession of the game, but it would be the Dolphins' only touchdown of the night.

Next up: The Dolphins travel to face the Detroit Lions in Week 8, while the Steelers hit the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Chicago Bears 33, New England Patriots 14

Briefly: Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears upset the New England Patriots, who are struggling to find a quarterback identity. Mac Jones was benched in the second quarter, which allowed Bailey Zappe to lead New England in back-to-back touchdown drives. The Chicago defense picked off the quarterbacks three times en route to the road victory.

One highlight to know: Bears rookie safety Jaquan Brisker got his first career interception off Mac Jones in the second quarter, which served as a final straw for the second-year quarterback.

Next up: The Bears travel to face the Dallas Cowboys who have Dak Prescott back, while the Patriots play the New York Jets who are riding a four-game win streak.
