Raiders wide receiver and former Fresno State star Davante Adams declined to answer questions about the Oct. 10 incident where he allegedly pushed a cameraman in Kansas City.

Adams spoke to the media for the first time on Wednesday, but kept it short.

“Not at this point. I said what I said. It was genuine. It was honest before. Like I said, it was something I regretted, but we’re putting it to bed now. Nothing else really to talk about at this point,” Adams said.

The Raiders had just lost 30-29 to the Chiefs when cameras showed Adams walking to the locker room and shoving a photographer who appeared to walk, possibly inadvertently, into the player’s path. A security guard helped the man to his feet.

Adams apologized after the game.

“There was some guy running off the field and he ran and jumped in front of me,” Adams said. “We were coming off the field and I bumped into him and kind of pushed him, and he ended up on the ground. I would like to say I’m sorry to him for that. That was just frustration mixed with running and literally running in front of me. I shouldn’t have responded that way but that’s how I, initially, responded so I want to apologize to him for that.”

The NFL is taking a look at the incident and there is no timetable when the league will announce what, if any, punishment Adams could be facing.

The man, Ryan Zebley, filed a police report and went to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Last Wednesday, Adams was charged with misdemeanor assault that is a city ordinance violation.

Police said Adams allegedly pushed Zebley “to the ground using two hands causing whiplash and headache and a possible minor concussion.”

The charge was filed in Kansas City Municipal Court.

Adams was in Fresno on Saturday when Fresno State retired his jersey number, alongside Derek Carr at Valley Children’s Hospital.

Adams was supposed to talked to the Fresno media prior to the the Bulldogs and San Jose State game, but his charter flight from Henderson, Nevada, was forced to return to its point of origin when a windshield in the plane cracked shortly after takeoff.
