Former NFL Cornerback Antonio Dennard Dead At 32

Former NFL cornerback Antonio Dennard was shot and killed over the weekend outside a bar in Pennsylvania. He was 32-years-old.

Officials said that Dennard died at a nearby hospital at 3:15 a.m. on Sunday. His death was ruled a homicide.

The shooting happened outside a bar in the parking lot in Berks County which is several miles northwest of Philadelphia.

The Jacksonville Jaguars picked up Dennard as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and he ended up being on the team’s practice squad, according to a report from Jaguars Wire.

He later had stints on practice teams with the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers.

“Antonio Denard, according to the Berks County Coroner’s Office, Antonio Denard, the former NFL player, was the victim of a shooting here at Legends in Muhlenberg township over the weekend,” reporter Tom Rader said. “Again, that’s coming from the Berks County Coroner’s Office, so, they tell me they were able to use a distinctive tattoo to make that final confirmation.”

“Again, we’re still gathering info in terms of the shooting investigation,” he added.
