BJP has planned a month-long “Jan Akrosh” agitation in Rajasthan including 10-day simultaneous campaigns across 200 assembly constituencies of the state involving over 600 leaders from the Centre as well as the state.
The month-long campaign, starting mid-November, will culminate in a “massive” agitation in Jaipur with a “Chalo Jaipur” exhortation to the party followers on December 17 when the Ashok Gehlot government will complete four years in office.
“There is anger across the state against the
Ashok Gehlot government and we have to respect the people’s sentiments. We are going to raise the inefficiencies of the state government including frequent communal riots, incidents of rape, other atrocities against women and appeasement of a particular community,” said BJP’s national general secretary and in-charge for Rajasthan, Arun Singh, who returned from the desert state after a day-long visit to finalise strategy for the agitation. Assembly polls in Rajasthan will be due by the end of next year along with Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The BJP leader claimed that over two lakh workers from all over the state will gather in Jaipur on December 17.
