It is reported that the club, which was founded by Beckham in 2018, tried to sign the 37-year-old in the summer, but were unsuccessful in their approaches.

The forward would reportedly be keen to move abroad in a bid to play first team football with the majority of minutes this season coming from the bench or in the Europa League.

Inter would be willing to offer £30million for the Portugal star, who has less than a year remaining on his contract.

The club however reportedly feel they could pick Ronaldo up for free, just months on after they attempted to do so in the summer window.

Ronaldo may find himself in a difficult situation, as he wants Champions League football but is also keen to play regularly in the twilight of his career.

He has scored one goal this season, which came from the penalty spot in the Europa League in a 2-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol.

Overall, he has netted 25 times since rejoining United last year, adding to his tally of 117 when he played for the club between 2003 and 2009.
