Jody Miller, a singer of country music, passed away on Thursday. Seven years after receiving a Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis, the Grammy Award-winning “Queen of the House” artist passed away in Blanchard, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family.
On her daughter, Robin Brook’s Middle-Sister Music Facebook page, the star’s death was announced. The post on the band’s page wrote, “Middle Sister is sorry to announce the passing of Jody Miller this morning, music icon and mother of Robin Brooks. Please remember the family as they deal with this great loss.”

In addition to having hit singles like “Let’s All Go Down to the River” and “Home of the Brave,” the country-pop singer also released “Queen of the House,” a follow-up to Roger Miller’s huge hit “King of the Road.” This is when the singer’s popularity really took off.
Capitol Records hired her in 1965, launching a career that would take her to many heights, including a performance at President George H.W. Bush’s 1988 inaugural ball. Later, she pursued a career as a Christian music performer, and in 1999, she was honored with a Hall of Fame induction by the Country Gospel Music Association. Monty Brooks, a horse trainer and breeder who passed away in 2014, and the singer of “Baby I’m Yours” wed in 1962.
We wish the best for her family during these hard times. May she rest in peace. She was 80 years old.
