This transformation by @lemondrop.home is so dramatic, it’s hard to believe it’s the same kitchen! Emerald green cabinets, patterned tile back splash and gold accents bring the drab brown and gray space to life. The island doubles as dine-in seating and a work space — a clever trick for small kitchens.
Dark to Light
Knocking out a wall turned this dark, cramped kitchen into a dream space by @sophiafaininteriors. Now the kitchen is open and airy with plenty of room for the large navy island.
Another smart update: The upper cabinets now reach the ceiling, making the room feel taller. And the mostly white finishes, with one bold splash of color, are timeless.
Goodbye 1970s Layout
When it came time to renovate this 1970s kitchen for a family of five, custom home builder and renovation contractor Alair Homes made the room bigger to fit the family’s needs.
They removed a wall and added a spacious kitchen island. And they gave this kitchen a new look with earthy green cabinets and gorgeous quartz countertops. What once was an eyesore is now the heartbeat of the home.
Backsplash Beauty
Removing the upper cabinets in this kitchen renovation by @themabelhouse made room for a beautiful blue tile backsplash (Portmore Sky Glazed Ceramic Tile by Tile Bar). Open shelving allows the tile to shine through while providing functional storage. In this case, the chunky rustic shelves play nicely against the modern tile and sleek base cabinets.
Budget-Friendly DIY
Can you believe this pretty, boho kitchen was remodeled on a budget? With creative solutions and plenty of determination @sherylsandersdesigns revamped her brown 1990s kitchen for right around $2,000!
She added shiplap to the ugly soffits instead of ripping them out, which would have cost thousands. She also made her own Shaker cabinet doors, expanded the island with a stock cabinet and gave everything a fresh coat of paint.
Moody Makeover
Although almost everyone loves an all-white kitchen, these black cabinets from @cginteriorsnl are making us swoon. Painted Black Iron by Benjamin Moore, the cabinets provide a stark contrast against the white backsplash and give the whole space a tailored, sophisticated vibe.
The paint color transforms the whole kitchen while leaving the layout relatively intact. (They replaced one corner cabinet with open shelving.)
Creamy White Elegance
This renovation by @alieshaporto involved transforming what she calls her “Olive-Garden style” kitchen with heavy corbels and ornate features into an elegant, high-end dream space.
The new timeless finishes include creamy white cabinets, luxurious marble, brass hardware and modern oversized pendant lights. But the star of the show is the large dark-green island — a truly inspired choice!
Modern Boho DIY
This ambitious kitchen makeover by @anikasdiylife was a complete DIY job from start to finish! She envisioned a modern dual-tone kitchen with plenty of wood tones to add warmth.
She installed the gorgeous marble and brass backsplash herself (though she’d never done it before!) using an adhesive tile mat instead of mortar to make the process beginner-friendly. Vertical wood slat trim on the island adds dimension and interest.
Charming Colorful Cottage
Can you believe this colorful cottage kitchen by @megmonde is from IKEA? They painted the white cabinets with Axstad doors dark green and installed a charming pink tile backsplash. Bright and White
Lauren O’Donnell of @lodesigns transformed this dated kitchen by opening up the layout and giving it a bright, white makeover. The warm woods ground the space while the gold accents add dimension and shine.
“One of the most important aspects of any remodel is to ensure the new design flows effortlessly into the existing space, like it was always meant to be that way,” O’Donnell says.
