Shooting at house party near University of Kentucky injures 11, two suspects arrested

A fight that led to a house party shooting near the University of Kentucky Wednesday night sent 11 students to the hospital as two suspects are in custody, according to police.

The University of Kentucky Police arrived at the house less than a mile away from the campus in Lexington after reports of two uninvited guests who caused a fight that escalated to a shooting.

One female student was shot in the leg and 10 other students suffered injuries by shrapnel and debris, according to University of Kentucky Police.

All victims were taken to UK Chandler hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation into the shooting is currently pending.
