Storm signal downgraded

The Hong Kong Observatory has downgraded the storm signal from No. 8 to No. 3, as tropical cyclone Ma-on moves away from the city.

 

The No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal, issued at 1.40am, was replaced by the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 9.20am today.

 

The Hospital Authority said one person sought medical treatment at a public hospital due to an injury sustained during the typhoon.

 

The 1823 Government Call Centre, as at 9am, received four reports of fallen trees, while the Drainage Services Department confirmed one flooding case.

 

The Home Affairs Department opened 31 temporary shelters in which 141 people sought refuge.
