I just saw that Paddy Hopkirk passed away on July 21 at the age of 89. He was truly a great driver making a huge name for himself primarily driving a Mini all over the European Rally circuit.

Lucky to say I’ve navigated in one of Paddy’s minis, he wasn’t driving. However when he was flagging another event away, he tried to convince me my Healey was ex-works, and then insisted he wanted to try to get in (only a couple of years ago).

Great friendly character.

I was sad to hear the news of the passing of Paddy. I had a nice chat with him at Goodwood about ten years ago. He shared some great stories of the his time racing the big Healey six at Sebring. What a wonderful man and a great character.....
