Arelion Deploys New Network PoP in Munich with EMC Home of Data

EMC Home of Data

Arelion has announced the addition of a new network PoP (Point-of-Presence) at the EMC Home of Data colocation data center in Munich, Germany. This will give colocation clients in the EMC Home of Data data center increased direct access to the Arelion AS1299 backbone network. The new network PoP will offer content providers and businesses in the Munich metro area high-speed IP Transit, Cloud Connect, and Internet Exchange (IX) Connect services.

As Germany’s third-largest city and the largest in the south, Munich has grown to become a center for high-tech businesses including those in the car, aerospace, biotech, and Internet sectors. Due to this and its 1.5 million inhabitants, Munich has become a vital Internet connectivity transit point.

Arelion, formerly known as Telia Carrier, has been present in Munich since 1999, and its four cable routes serve as a gateway between Frankfurt, southern Germany, Vienna, and the Balkans.
