25th anniversary events to be held

June 30, 2022

Chief Executive-elect John Lee and senior government officials will attend a flag-raising ceremony tomorrow to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's establishment.

The event will be held at Golden Bauhinia Square outside the Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai at 8am.

The Police Band will perform at the ceremony and two singers will sing the national anthem, followed by a fly-past and a sea parade by the disciplined services.

The celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the inaugural ceremony of the sixth-term Hong Kong SAR Government will then be held at the Grand Hall on Level 3 of the centre.

Police will designate Golden Bauhinia Square and the nearby area as a restricted zone. No public viewing area will be set up for the flag-raising ceremony.
