RIP David Lynch music contributor Julee Cruise

Julee Cruise, whose music was central to David Lynch’s Twin Peaks back in the late 80s, has died at the age of 65. According to her husband, Edward Grinan, on Facebook: “She left this realm on her own terms. No regrets. She is at peace … I played her [B-52’s song] Roam during her transition. Now she will roam forever. Rest in peace, my love.” That’s all we know other than she suffered from lupus and chronic pain.

Her biggest hit–which got a lot of alt-rock radio play in 1989–was “Falling,” written by Angelo Badalamenti. Lynch picked that up for the theme for Twin Peaks. She also later showed up as a character in the movie, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and later in Twin Peaks: The Return. There were other projects including some avant-garde theatre.

This will refresh your memory.
