Prescription App Provider Ranking Sees Just a Tincture of Change

Prescription app

Providing a monthly dose of new scores and rankings, PYMNTS’ Provider Ranking of Prescription Apps will help you find what the doctor ordered.

As with the rankings of apps in other categories, this one assigns scores based on such factors as channel coverage, up-to-date downloads, monthly average users, sessions per user and average session length.

In this month’s edition, there’s just a tincture of change, with two contenders swapping positions in the rankings and all the others remaining where they were last time.

The Top 5

Once again ranked No. 1 is GoodRx. Like last time, this app has a perfect score of 100. That’s tough to beat!

The runner-up is 13 points behind, as SingleCare records a score of 87 and hangs onto the same position it had last time.

After another gap in the field — 17 points — there’s the third-ranked contender, CVS Caremark. This app maintains its position with a score of 70.

Just three points behind that is RxSaver. With a score of 67, this app retains the No. 4 position it had last month.

In this month’s first change in the rankings, Publix Pharmacy moves up one level with a score of 63.

The Top 10

That means there’s an app that had to step down, and that’s OptumRx. With a score of 60, it’s now ranked sixth.

There’s no movement at No. 7, as Express Scripts still holds this spot with a score of 58.

Eighth place, too, remains unchanged. RxLocal retains its position with a score of 50.

There’s another familiar name at No. 9, with ScriptSave hanging on with a score of 45.

Running tenth, as it did last time, is Kroger Rx Savings Club. With a score of 41, it closes out this month’s top 10 of the Provider Ranking of Prescription Apps.
