Hundreds of Guelph homes were briefly without power Saturday afternoon when a brief but strong storm blew through the area.
The highest winds hit the city around 12:20 p.m., snapping trees and limbs and downing power lines across the city.
Most of the outages were in the northeast and south parts of the city, as well as downtown.
Some trees were uprooted and part of a roof blew off a plaza on Edinburgh Road at the Municipal Street intersection.
By 1 p.m. the rain had passed and the sun came out.
Hydro crews were working throughout the early afternoon to restore power and remove limbs off power lines.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries in the city.
