Three injured in Murray State softball bus accident on way to Tuscaloosa Regional

Three people were hospitalized after the bus carrying the Murray State softball team to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for an NCAA Tournament regional was involved in an accident Wednesday.

The Murray State athletics Twitter account posted that the bus was involved in an accident on its way to the Tuscaloosa Regional. The post said three "individuals (were) transported to hospital" with "non-life-threatening injuries for further testing."

The post said "remaining players/staff are safe and unharmed."

Murray State received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for winning the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. The Racers are 40-16-1.

Murray State is scheduled to play Stanford on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in a first-round game in the tournament. The winner of that game will play the winner of Alabama vs. Chattanooga.
