Local quartet to perform in May

April 29, 2022

A talented local chamber group, the Romer String Quartet, will perform a selection of classical compositions in the City Hall Virtuosi Series: Romer String Quartet concert in May.

The concert will feature three quartets including Milhaud’s String Quartet No. 1, Op. 5, Mendelssohn-Hensel’s String Quartet in E-flat and Mozart’s String Quartet No. 23 in F, K. 590 (Prussian No. 3).

Named after Romer's tree frog, which is endemic to Hong Kong, the quartet is a local ensemble formed by home-grown musicians including Kitty Cheung, Kiann Chow, Ringo Chan and Eric Yip.

The group has performed across the world over the years and is frequently invited to perform in local festivals such as the Hong Kong Arts Festival, World Cultures Festival and Beare's Premiere Music Festival.

Presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, the concert will be staged at 8pm on May 31 at City Hall.

Tickets are available at URBTIX.

The department reminds visitors that they are required to scan the LeaveHomeSafe QR code before being allowed to enter the City Hall and must comply with the Vaccine Pass requirement.
