Tenneco to close Ohio plant, eliminating nearly 600 jobs

The Dayton Daily News has reported that automotive parts manufacturer Tenneco will close its Kettering, Ohio, plant. Operations will be discontinued by Dec. 31, 2023, but layoffs will begin in June 2022. A total of 597 jobs will be eliminated.

According to the Dayton Daily News, a company spokesman told the news organization last year that continuing production at the plant didn’t make business sense, considering such economic factors as market oversaturation of shock absorber production and high materials costs.
