Kansas-based Textron Aviation Inc. can be subject to a lawsuit in Washington state after an in-state crash because of Washington’s long-arm statute, constitutional requirements and the application of a recent ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court, the Washington State Court of Appeals held April 14.

The suit against Textron occurred after a 2015 crash of a four-seat Cessna T182T Skylane plane in Okanogan County, Washington. The impact killed pilot Albert Losvar and passenger Brian Downing.
