United Precision Services’ Auto Calibration of Tool Geometry system increases beveling precision

United Precision Services Inc. now offers its Auto Calibration of Tool Geometry (ACTG) technology, developed by MicroStep, to North American fabricators. The patented technology allows for precise, stable beveling using plasma, oxyfuel, fiber laser, and waterjet cutting processes, reports the manufacturer.

The self-learning calibration system detects and compensates for geometry and mechanical inaccuracies without calibration adjustment procedures. Compensation is based on correction movements to X-, Y-, and Z-axis motion. The system also can be used for calibrating MicroStep’s parallel bevel-cutting when using two cutting heads simultaneously.
