THE State Government and related agencies have set up a consortium to spearhead new investments in Sipitang to stimulate and activate the timber industry in the Sabah Forest Industries (SFI) area, thus also addressing the welfare issues of the SFI workers involved.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the new private investment would be monitored by the State Government and, most importantly, the ownership of industrial land and forests would remain a State right.
