Washburn University School of Law announced Friday that Dean Carla Pratt will step down from her role following the school’s spring commencement ceremony.

After nearly four years at Washburn Law’s helm, Pratt is returning to her native state of Oklahoma to serve as the University of Oklahoma College of Law’s inaugural Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Chair in Civil Rights, Race and Justice in Law. This new position was created to honor Fisher as the first African American to enroll and graduate from OU Law, according to the school’s announcement.
