SP steps up EVM ‘vigil’, checks even ambulances
MEERUT/BIJNOR: After purported clips of “unused EVMs and postal ballot papers” found in some places in UP went viral on Wednesday, Samajwadi Party workers stepped up their vigil, with a focus on EVM strongrooms and checking of vehicles for “any sign of mischief by the administration". SP workers in Bulandshahr even stopped ambulances to check for EVMs inside.
Local administration officials warned of “strict action” if there was any deterioration in the law and order situation.

Following SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s appeal to be “watchful”, SP and RLD workers in Bulandshahr confronted officials and checked all vehicles near counting centres. In Saharanpur, there were reports of SP workers stopping a “non-government vehicle” as the official convoy was about to enter the counting centre.
