Ogilvie Transportation Center Secure After Bomb & Arson Squad Checks Suspicious Package

Police and firefighters from Chicago responded about 4:15 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2022 to a report of a suspicious package at the Ogilvie Transportation Center, 500 West Madison Street in Chicago.

Police and firefighters were called when a suspicious package was discovered near one of their Metra passenger trains at the Ogilvie Transportation Center.

Chicago police officers cleared all passengers out of the train station.

All inbound or outbound trains were temporarily halted.

Firefighters examined the package, and at about 6:13 p.m. Chicago Fire Department command announced that the Bomb & Arson squad x-ray determined the package was secure.

Metra did not post any Twitter alerts regarding the incident and associated delays.
