190 cases found in restricted areas

Mandatory testing:

Affected people are arranged for testing after the Government made a restriction-testing declaration and issued a compulsory testing notice for King Wo House, Wo Che Estate in Sha Tin.

The Government today announced that 190 preliminary positive COVID-19 cases were found in the compulsory testing exercises for the restricted areas in Sha Tin and Sham Shui Po.

 

It made a restriction-testing declarations on February 19 to cover King Wo House, Wo Che Estate, requiring people to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing.

 

Around 780 people underwent testing in the operation, with 22 preliminary positive COVID-19 cases found.

 

Separately, the Government made a restriction-testing declaration on February 18 to cover Block 21, Shek Kip Mei Estate and extended the operation period to today. People in the building were required to undergo two virus tests.

 

Around 2,150 tests were carried out in the operation and 168 preliminary positive cases were identified. Six indeterminate cases were also recorded.

 

The Centre for Health Protection will follow up on such cases.
