Opposition stages walkout against Yogi remarks on Kerala, WB, J&K

NEW DELHI: The opposition on Friday walked out of Lok Sabha protesting against the statement of UP CM Yogi Adityanath in which he demeaned three key states by warning the voters that if BJP was voted out of power in UP, it will become like Kerala, West Bengal and Kashmir.
As the House met, MPs across parties were on their feet, slamming Adityanath's statement which they said had insulted the three states.

Adjournment motions were also moved to suspend the question hour, but their demand was turned down by Speaker Om Birla.
During the din, BSP MP from UP Danish Ali was heard saying that he apologised to all that "my chief minister is Ajay Bisht", while TMC's Saugata Roy was heard lashing out at the offensive remark. Congress leader in the House Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said such remarks made by a CM were "highly condemnable".
As the LS moved on with the question hour, Congress Samajwadi Party, BSP, DMK, Kerala Congress, National Conference, TMC staged a walkout. Later, during the zero hour, Roy raised the issue again, but was heckled by a BJP member, and he couldn't finish his statement.
