GURGAON: The
Haryana government has allowed resumption of campus classes from Thursday, both at state-run and private institutions, for classes 1 to 9, reports Siddharth Tiwari. This comes after sustained defiance by a number of schools that recalled students to campuses despite a state order to hold only online classes.
State education minister Kanwar Pal on Wednesday announced that the government will allow schools to conduct physical classes at 50% capacity.
Earlier this month, the government had reopened schools for classes 10 to 12.
The education department directed all districts to ensure that schools open with adherence to the capacity and other norms. While the government said the decision was under consideration, sources within the department told TOI that enforcing the school closure order had become "impossible" as schools were against it and had parents' support.
