Crystal Palace are lining up a £10million move for Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo ahead of next season.

The 25-year-old could return home to London as Eagles boss Patrick Vieira looks for a midfielder to replace loanee Conor Gallagher after his potential return to Chelsea in the summer.

Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman watched Nigeria star Aribo, 25, in the midweek Old Firm clash where Rangers suffered a 3-0 defeat.

Aribo is being seen a good fit for the Eagles and the lure of returning to London to play top-flight football should be enough to attract the youngster.

Palace are set to not only lose Gallagher, but a number of other midfielders, who are out of contract in the summer.

Boss Vieira will look to use that as an opportunity to shake up his ever-improving squad ahead of next season.

Aribo, who has just 18 months left on his Rangers contract. is one of his top targets after impressing for the Scottish side this season with six goals and six assists.

It will be a tough task for anyone to replace the form of Gallagher who has been influential for Palace so far this campaign.

The 22-year-old has scored seven times and added a further three assists for Palace this term in just 19 appearances.

The rising star is however reportedly part of Chelsea's plans next season and will be a big loss for the Eagles.
