Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Recruitment 2022: Indian Coast Guard is going to close the online applications today, 2 March for recruitment to the post of Assistant Commandant (Group A Gazetted Officer) for various branches including General Duty, General Duty (Pilot/Navigator), General Duty (Women/SSA), Technical (Engineering & Electrical & Electronics), Commercial Pilot License (CPL-SSA) for 01/2023 Batch. 

All those candidates who have yet not submitted their applications for CGCAT (01/2023) batch, can submit applications as soon as possible to avoid last minute rush on the official website. Coast Guard AC Recruitment 2022 online applications will be closed on 2 March 2022. Earlier,, the last date of application was 28 February 2022.

Coast Guard AC Recruitment 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • General Duty GD/Pilot/Navigator/Women SSA - Bachelor Degree with Minimum 60% Marks All Semester / Year; Maths, Physics as a Subject up to 10+2 Level Examination or equivalent. 
  • Commercial Pilot CPL SSA - Candidate should have a 12th or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects and should have scored a minimum 55% marks in each of the subjects. The candidates who have completed the diploma are also eligible, they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum; should possess current commercial pilot License issued/validated by Director General Civil Aviation on the submission of application. 
  • Technical Mechanical - Should have Engineering Degree of recognized University in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Industrial and production or Metallurgy or design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks. 
  • Technical Electrical/Electronics - Candidates should have an Engineering Degree in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with Minimum 60% Marks.
  • Law Entry - Degree in Law from a recognized University.

Coast Guard AC Recruitment 2022 Selection Criteria

The selection of Officer recruits is based on an all-India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidates in various stages (I – V) of the exam and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV, and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG.

  • Stage-I (CGCAT). Stage-I would include the conduct of a Screening Test for the eligible applicants which will be a Computer Based Examination conducted at various centers all over India. A screening test is to be conducted for candidates applying for the post of GD/CPL and Technical (Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics). The screening test will be conducted in an MCQ pattern with maximum marks of 400 consisting of 100 questions with four marks for each correct answer and one negative marking for each incorrect answer. The duration of the exam will be of two hours and the medium of the test paper will be English.
  • Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)}. Based on the performance in Stage-I, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Stage-II(PSB)which will be conducted for a day at Noida, Mumbai/Goa, Chennai, and Kolkata centers. Candidates will be screened through the Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception &Discussion Test (PP&DT). The CCBT will be in English only and will be of objective type. 
  • Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB). Stage-II shortlisted candidates will be intimated through their login ID for appearing for Stage-III (FSB) and candidates are required to bring e-admit card for Stage-III. FSB is conducted at the Coast Guard Selection Board (CGSB) located at Noida and spans over five days. The candidates are subjected to Psychological Test, Group Task, and Interview (Personality test). The Final Selection will be conducted tentatively from Jul to Oct 22. All documents/certificates verified during PSB are also required to be produced in originals during FSB. Board conference is held on last day and thereafter recommended candidates are sent for Stage-IV i.e. initial medical exam.

  • Stage-IV (Medical Examination). The candidates who clear Stage-III are required to undergo a special medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi.
  • Stage-V (Induction). The candidates who clear Stage - IV and stand in All India Merit List as per the vacancies available will be provisionally selected for training and will be required to report at INA Ezhimala for Naval Orientation Course (NOC) as per the instructions.
