Monday at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., or 10 p.m.: These times cover a global audience while also fitting into weekday schedules in the US. For example, it takes into account when users are scrolling TikTok videos before school or work, before their lunch break, and before bedtime.

Tuesday at 2 a.m., 4 a.m., or 9 a.m.: People check TikTok when they wake up, and again in the late evening. Posting during these hours will ensure fresh content is ready when users open the app.

Wednesday at 7 a.m., 8 a.m., or 11 p.m.: If you post video content on TikTok during these midweek times, you can catch people on the platform before work or school—and then again right before bedtime.

Thursday at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., or 7 p.m.: Your content may receive extra reach if you post videos on Thursdays around midday when your target audience could be scrolling TikTok on their break.

How to find the best time to post on TikTok
Dig into your own analytics to find the best TikTok posting schedule for your specific audience. Once you know what works, you can schedule TikTok posts in advance to make sure you always publish during peak hours.
There are two main ways to find your TikTok posting data:
Use TikTok analytics to see your viewers’ most active times
Use TikTok’s built-in analytics tool to see when your viewers and followers are most active, then try posting consistently during those times.

From the mobile app. Open your TikTok profile and select TikTok Studio below your bio, then tap Analytics. You can also access analytics by opening the main menu, selecting TikTok Studio under Creation & Business Tools, and choosing Analytics.

From your computer. On desktop, navigate to TikTok Studio > Analytics.
From the analytics dashboard, select the Viewers tab, then scroll down to Most Active Times. Toggle between Hours and Days to see the days and times your audience was most active over the past week. If you have 100 or more followers, you can select the Followers tab to see your followers’ most active days and times.
TikTok displays your audience’s time zone in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), so you’ll need to convert them into your local time zone to figure out when to post. This is especially important because when you schedule posts, TikTok automatically uses your local time zone.
Check engagement for individual posts
One strategy for finding the right time to post on TikTok is checking when you published your most popular posts, then test posting again at those same times.
You can see analytics for individual posts in the TikTok app by navigating to your profile, selecting a post, selecting the three dots (...) on the right side of the post, and then selecting Analytics from the menu options.
How to optimize your TikTok videos for engagement
According to TikTok, the quality of your videos matters more than the time you post them. Here are some ways you can optimize your TikTok content to increase engagement:
Be authentic
Your TikTok videos don’t need to be polished to get engagement. Chelsea Branch, founder of hair accessory brand Kōv Essentials, says she takes a more “lo-fi approach” to TikTok compared to Instagram.
“What we saw over the years of building Kōv on socials is that going out on a whim and posting things that you feel confident about have such a better payoff than those more curated, intentional, well-thought-through videos—specifically when it comes to TikTok,” Chelsea says on Shopify Masters.
One of Kōv’s most popular TikToks from 2026 is this slow-motion video response to a viewer who commented that a simple French pin updo shown in a previous video “looks extremely difficult.” The 20-second unedited clip received 1.5 million views.
Mix in trending content
Consider creating videos around TikTok trends that have already proven popular among users.

“Algorithms are really fickle,” Charlotte Palermino, cofounder and chief brand officer of skincare brand Dieux, says on Shopify Masters. Posts that perform well one day might not perform well the next.
For Dieux, however, a few things always stay the same. “It’s always about telling stories, being really clear on marketing, and also getting really geeked out on different parts of the story of where we got to where we are,” says Charlotte.
