A source close to Ghislaine Maxwell and Prince Andrew alleges they may have been lovers because she entered Buckingham Palace 'at will'.

The former royal police bodyguard, Paul Page claims in an ITV programme, that the former socialite visited up to four times in one day, The Sun reported.

"From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will, we suspected that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew," Page told ITV’s Ranvir Singh.

Page who was jailed for fraud in 2009, has previously claimed that Maxwell and Prince Andrew's other female friends rarely signed in when visiting the palace.

The known friends have not been linked as lovers before.

The Metro reported a friend who attended Oxford University with Maxwell has also said she thought they could have previously dated.

New York-based British investment banker, Euan Rellie, attended parties hosted by Maxwell and American paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and got the sense they had been girlfriend and boyfriend in the past.

"They had an easy warmth around each other," the Metro reported Rellie said.

Prince Andrew has been stripped of his military affiliations by the Queen following allegations of sexual assault.

Virginia Giuffre alleges Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her at the age of 17. She says this occurred after she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
