Argument between roommates escalates into stabbing in College Area

Two people were arrested Sunday after an argument between roommates escalated into a stabbing in the College Area near San Diego State University, police said.

The incident was reported about 4 p.m. at a home on 54th Street near Montezuma Road. Police said at least three roommates were involved in the argument, during which one of them was stabbed in his upper body and right hand.

The victim, whose age was unavailable, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Others involved in the argument holed up in the home, police said. Officers surrounded the home and ordered them to come out.

Around 40 minutes later, two people walked out and were detained. They were later arrested in connection with the incident, police said.
